My story

Luke Johnson from Reading and Jo Ager from Taunton share their experiences of a France Mission summer outreach team.

I arrived in Firminy not sure if I really wanted to be there or not and continued to feel like this for the first day and a half.  It was the worship on the first Sunday night that really changed this. Listening to worship and prayer in French was a real blessing and continued to be so throughout the two weeks.

I made some great friendships and met some really inspirational Christians.  Some of them have really helped me in my journey with God.  Thanks to these people I feel that I have grown as a Christian.

I was on the direct contact team, going out into the streets and parks with questionnaires and using them to get a conversation started.  I found it quite hard going at first, but God answers prayer and in the second week I met several people who were very open to the gospel.

The most special experience for me was the Sunday prayer walk, when my group went up on the hillside to pray. From there we could look down on the amazing countryside all around, and the presence of God was all around us too.
